ENS-AXA Research Chair in the Geopolitics of Risk

REGenableMED

is a large, four-university collaborative ESRC funded project led by the University of York investigating the commercial and hospital sector development of regenerative medicine, and preparedness of the UK healthcare system for adoption of cell-based medical technologies. It runs from 2014 to 2017. The 性爱视频 arm is led by Dr Alex Faulkner, working with Researcher Aurélie Mahalatchimy.

Future Health Systems

is a research consortium working to improve access, affordability and quality of health services for the poor. It is a partnership of leading research institutes from across the globe working in a variety of contexts: in low-income countries (Bangladesh, Uganda), middle-income countries (China, India) and fragile states (Afghanistan) to build resilient health systems for the future.
Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI)

The Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI) at the University of Manchester is inspired by the need to conduct rigorous research and to support postgraduate training on the impact and outcomes of contemporary and historical crises. The HCRI is driven by a desire to inform and support policy and decision makers, to optimise joint working between partner organisations, and to foster increased accountability within a knowledge gathering framework.

Bringing together the disciplines of medicine and the humanities to achieve these aims, the HCRI works to facilitate improvements in crisis response on a global scale whilst providing a much needed centre of excellence for all concerned with emergencies and conflicts.

STEPS Centre

(Social, Technological and Environmental Pathways to Sustainability) is an interdisciplinary global research and policy engagement centre uniting development studies with science and technology studies. Our cross-cutting work covers agriculture/food; energy/climate change; health/disease and water/sanitation.

In an era of unprecedented change, we are developing a new ‘pathways approach’ to understanding and action on sustainability and development, providing new thinking and practical solutions.Our work addresses two vital global challenges: linking environmental sustainability with better livelihoods and health for poor people; and helping science and technology work for poverty reduction and social justice.

The STEPS Centre is based at the Institute of Development Studies and SPRU Science and Technology Policy Research at the 性爱视频 in the UK. We work with a network of partners in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Europe and are funded by the Economic and Social Research Council.

Cultures of Reproduction, Technologies and Health (CORTH)

Based in the School of Global Studies, the Centre for Cultures of Reproduction, Technologies and Health (CORTH) focuses on analyses of the intersections between cultures of human reproduction, social identities, health and technologies.

BIOSPORTproject

project is an ESRC funded project led by Dr Alex Faulkner investigating the intersections between medical biotechnology and elite sport, and raising issues for public debate and ethical analysis. It runs from 2013 to 2016.

BIOMODTECH

is an ESRC funded research collaboration in the UK, 2017-2020, between the Universities of 性爱视频, Oxford and York. It investigates the experimental development, regulation and healthcare uptake of gene editing, IPS cell therapy, and 3D bio-printing in the UK within the global context. It combines Sociology, Law and STS in an inter-disciplinary team. Led by Prof Alex Faulkner (Centre for Global Health Policy, with Dr Phoebe Li, Law, and Dr Edison Bicudo, CGHP)
