Removal of old lecture capture systems, 18 February 2019, 11:00

Description of work:
We’ll be retiring an old lecture capture system called SoundsDirect. The last recording to this system was made in August 2013. We will also decommission Echo 360, another old lecture capture system, which has been offline since the end of 2018.

What will you notice once this work is complete?
This work will completely remove SoundsDirect, Echo 360 and the content on both systems. If you think you might still have important material on these old systems, please contact ITS.
Why are we doing this work?
Old systems can pose a security risk if they’re kept online once they’re no longer needed. We routinely retire outdated software and hardware to keep the ÐÔ°®ÊÓƵ network secure. Decommissioning the hardware will also have an environmental benefit, reducing our energy consumption.
