Role

Rebecca Vine's research explores management control, innovation and policy issues associated with accountability and the governance of risk within large-scale infrastructure projects.  She joined 性爱视频 in 2011 and has held past appointments as a Teaching Fellow (Accounting) and Research Fellow (SPRU). As a Teaching Fellow she played a major role in gaining professional accreditation for Accounting and Finance from the main chartered accountancy bodies. At SPRU she was on secondment as an ESRC Innovation Fellow funded by the National Productivity Investment Fund (NPIF) to examine Intelligent Client capabilities and governance reform within major infrastructure projects.

In 2019 she became a Co-Investigator on a large three year programme of research: . In this role she is examining performance management and control as part of a broader research theme group focused on capability and knowledge management within government projects. Project X is a multi-institutional collaboration between the Cabinet Office (IPA), government departments, industry partners, the project delivery profession and a large number of prestigious universities. Rebecca is a member of the Steering Group that oversees Project X.

Biography:

Rebecca holds a PhD from SPRU (Science Policy Research Unit), an MBA (with distinction) and a BA in Economics and Accounting from the University of Leeds. After graduating in 1988 she joined Esso UK as an earnings analyst and planner on turnaround projects and channel expansion programmes in Europe and Africa. She qualified as a management accountant in the early 90s (ACMA, CGMA) and spent many happy years at Accenture (then Andersen Consulting) working within and across large scale consultancy projects. At Accenture she became a senior controller and commercial lead focused on outsourcing, IT transformations and performance management with project teams based in the US, Europe and South Africa. In 2001 she was appointed as an Associate Director for one of the largest UK financial training houses. In this role she was responsible for executive training for senior civil servants across several UK government departments. Her career in education continued from there.  

Engagement: Community, Policy and Business impact

She is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants global community. Recently she has taken up a role as a Director of the Cuckmere Community Solar Company in 性爱视频. In the past, she has held board positions for Young Enterprise and several Women in Leadership in professional practice and industry initiatives. In 2017-18 she was part of Project 13, in a cross-industry and university working group that developed the principles underpinning business model and governance reform. This work was nominated for an impact award.
